Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two Las Vegas men accused of stealing more than two thousand gallons of diesel fuel during coordinated burglaries at Seligman gas stations last Friday.
Investigators say the case was solved through what the Sheriff’s Office called “old-fashioned detective work.” A deputy responding to the theft report located a U-Haul truck matching a suspect vehicle description, with diesel fuel leaking from the cargo area into the street. The deputy followed shoe prints from the spill to a nearby hotel room.
With help from the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, deputies arrested 37-year-old Dachel Roberto Michel Campos and 23-three-year-old Jesus Daniel Rodriguez Yordy, both from Las Vegas.
Investigators recovered about twenty-one hundred gallons of stolen diesel fuel, plus a credit card skimmer, burglary tools, and multiple credit cards belonging to other people. Authorities say a third suspect in a black Ford F-650 flatbed truck is still being sought.
