Time to see how some former Yavapai College baseball players are doing in the professional ranks.
Willie Calhoun is playing in the Mexican League for Charros de Jalisco. In 34 games, he’s batting .288 with five home runs, 21 RBIs, 10 doubles, 22 runs scored, and a .514 slugging percentage.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand is in the Baltimore organization, playing for the AAA Norfolk Tides. He’s hitting .286 with eight homers, 26 RBIs, 11 doubles, 20 runs scored, and a .550 slugging percentage.
Trey Morrill is on the roster for the Sioux City Explorers of the independent American Association. In four games, he is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA and seven strikeouts.
Riley Nelson is with the Single-A Hill City Howlers. In 15 games, he is hitting .119 with a home run and nine RBIs.
