Overnight lane restrictions are now in place on one stretch of I-17 through Yavapai County. ADOT has started a 10-mile paving improvement project north of the Sunset Point Rest Area. The work will improve the driving surface along I-17 from Sunset Point to the Highway 69 turnoff.
During the project, the interstate will be reduced to a single lane in each direction from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Those overnight lane restrictions are expected to continue until the project is completed in the fall of 2026.
ADOT says ramps and crossroads at the Sunset Point Rest Area may be closed periodically, with advance notice provided on electronic message boards.
Motorists should slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
