MATFORCE Announces Winners of Essay Contest

A student at BASIS-Prescott took home the top prize in the Stay Healthy Essay Contest organized by MAT-Force. Senior Toby Chang secured first place. The essay addressed how social media influences thoughts and opinions on drug use and what one would advise their ten-year-old self to prepare for high school.

There was a tie for second place in the essay contest between freshman Aubrey Tomlinson from Prescott High School and sophomore Tashyla Wagner from Mingus Union High School. Third place was also a tie between two Camp Verde High School students, junior Destiny Rose Johnson and freshman Aiden Mezulis.

The prize for first place is $500. The second place winners receive $300 each, and the third place winners receive $100 each.
