Slight Improvement in Drought Conditions for Yavapai County

4/4/24

The recent storms have finally impacted Yavapai County’s drought conditions. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, the central part of the county is abnormally dry, while the eastern and western parts are in moderate drought.

In the rest of Arizona, more than half the state is abnormally dry, with the southeastern part experiencing either moderate drought or extreme drought.

Due to the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is low. However, visitors to the forest should exercise caution with anything that can produce a flame or spark to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
