PHS Baseball Stuns Mingus With Incredible Come From Behind Victory

Thursday looked like it would not be a good day for the Prescott baseball team. The Badgers could not get their offense going, while the opposite was true for Mingus. They had a 7-1 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning. Prescott’s Cooper Magnett started the inning with a line drive single. The Badgers then kept chipping away at the Marauders’ lead until Magnett came to bat for the second time in the inning. He got a bases-clearing double to give Prescott the 8-7 walk-off win.

Ryan Elliott, Colton Champion, Nick Martin, and Matt Hepperle each had an RBI. Jack Burton scored two runs. Hepperle was also the winning pitcher.

Prescott is 13-3 overall on the season and 6-0 in Grand Canyon Region play. The Badgers are also on a six-game winning streak. Prescott is back in action Monday when they go to Cottonwood for a rematch with Mingus.
