The Northern Arizona Wranglers and the San Antonio Gunslingers spent much of the first half exchanging touchdowns. But N-A-Z notched two touchdowns in the final 90 seconds to go into halftime on top 35-21. By the third quarter, the Wranglers had a 51-23 lead. But San Antonio launched a comeback and got to within seven… before time ran out. That gave Northern Arizona the 57-50 win Saturday night in Texas.
Joshua Jones threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns, and also recorded two rushing touchdowns. John Maldonado had 56 receiving yards and two touchdowns. R-Z McCorker registered a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. David Elder and Ju Manyweather each had a rushing touchdown.
Shannon Reid had a great night on defense with eight tackles and two sacks. Wallace Cowins posted six tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Travion Banks had an interception and broke up four passes.
