BMHS Baseball Rallies Past Mingus

The Mingus baseball team got off to a quick start, going up on Bradshaw Mountain 4-2 after two innings in Thursday’s contest. But Isaiah Avila settled down on the mound and silenced the Marauders’ bats. Meanwhile, the Bears scratched out runs here and there to pull ahead of Mingus and get the win, final score from Cottonwood, 6-4.

Avila went the distance, striking out six and giving up just one earned run. Rylan Osbjornsen tripled and drove in a run. Shane Lievsay doubled and had an RBI. TJ Drape and “The Huntsman” Mason Hunt each had an RBI. Vinny Magdaleno and Garison Jones scored two runs apiece.

Bradshaw Mountain improves to 13-7 overall on the season and 6-1 in Grand Canyon Region play. No rest for the Bears today as they host Flagstaff. Bradshaw wraps up the regular season next week with a home and home series against Prescott.
