They dropped their matches at number one and number two singles, and fell at number one doubles, but the rest of the matches for the Prescott boys tennis worked out in their favor, giving them the 6-3 triumph over Canyon View Friday.
Carter Thompson won his singles match 6-2 and 6-4. James Wood got the deke in his match 6-2 and 6-3. Nick Thompson notched scores of 6-3 and 6-0 in singles, and Andrew Dzierzega had a 6-1 and 6-0 win. For doubles, Dzierzega and Miguel Canales pulled out a 9-7 victory, while Wood and Nick Thompson got an 8-2 win.
Prescott is now 10-2 overall on the season and 4-2 in section play. They are also ranked number 14 in Division Two, with Bradshaw Mountain right behind them at number 15. The Badgers have one more match left on the regular season schedule. They host Paradise Honors tomorrow. The team state tournament begins Friday.
