Defense was on display big time for the Northern Arizona Wranglers Saturday night. They shutout Duke City in the first quarter, and did again in the fourth quarter. That helped them get the 39-23 victory over the Gladiators. Shanon Reid led the defensive effort for NAZ with ten tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Ellison Jordan had a pick six. Wallace Cowins and Travion Banks both had interceptions, and Tramond Lofton recorded a sack.
Offensively, Joshua Jones threw four touchdown passes and had two rushing touchdowns. RZ McCorker caught two touchdown passes. John Maldanado and Kobay White each had a TD reception.
The Wranglers are now 3-1 on the season. They are on the road for the next two weeks. Northern Arizona is in Tucson this coming Saturday to take on the Sugar Skulls, then are in California May 5th versus the San Diego Strike Force. NAZ returns home May 11th versus the Bay Area Panthers.
