It has certainly been an up and down season for both the Chino Valley baseball and softball teams. So with their season finales on Monday, both squads wanted to make sure they went out on the up side … and they did just that. The baseball team trailed Scottsdale Christian 6-3 in the sixth inning, then smacked the ball all over the place and put up four runs. The Cougars held on in the top of the seventh to get the 7-6 triumph over the Eagles. Tucker Legler and Jacob Boivan each had an RBI. Logan Zerger scored two runs.
The softball game was nowhere near as dramatic as Chino Valley routed Scottsdale Christian 16-0. The Lady Cougars drew 13 walks in the game. Abigal Spann, Brooklyn Bates, Ashley Morrow, Jaime Felton, Ali Estala, and Jordan Mortensen each drove in two runs.
The Chino baseball team finishes the season at 7-15 while the Chino softball team wraps up their 2024 campaign at 11-14.
