A report of someone shooting multiple rounds at a structure in the Breezy Pines Community Southeast of Prescott last Thursday got the attention of Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies.
According to YCSO, the reporting party stated he heard gunshots after a confrontation with his neighbor and son over alleged reckless driving of a side-by-side. Deputies spoke with concerned neighbors, who pointed out the residence where the gunshots were believed to have come from.
As deputies approached the home, the resident, 42-year-old Dennis Gherman of Mayer, came out, but denied firing any weapons. Deputies detained Gherman and his 19-year-old son, Devon, and collected several firearms from the home.
Deputies found 46 spent ammunition casings where Gherman was seen yelling at his neighbor. Both father and son were arrested on felony counts of reckless discharge of a weapon and endangerment.
No one was injured in the incident.
