Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an accident with injuries on the Enchanted Forest Trail in Walker, east of Prescott last Saturday. There they found a 15-year-old girl who had crashed a Coleman pit-bike on an unpaved road and suffered a serious head injury.
YCSO officials says the girl was riding with her father on another motorbike but was not wearing a helmet or eye protection. She hit a bump that threw her from the bike, and struck her head on the ground.
Medical assistance arrived and transported her to the Walker Fire Department, where a Native Air ambulance took her to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The girl lost consciousness, began seizing, and bled severely, but was alert and able to speak with first responders by the time she was loaded onto the helicopter.
Her family reported she suffered only a mild concussion and was released from the hospital in good condition.
