Bradshaw Mt Softball & Baseball Triumphant in State Play-in Round

The Bradshaw Mountain softball team got off to a rough start in its state play-in game Wednesday. They gave up three runs to Mingus in the top of the first inning. But the Lady Bears came back with four runs of their own in the bottom of the first, then posted six more runs in the second inning. Bradshaw did not let up offensively and got the 18-7 win over the Lady Marauders.

Carmen Marquez drove in four runs for the Lady Bears. “Code Red” Kodee Statler homered and drove in three runs. She was also the winning pitcher with 12 strikeouts. Amry “Cheeto” Soriano, Bella Bianchi, and Jas Valentine each had two RBIs. The Lady Bears advance to the Sweet 16 of state, which takes place Saturday.

Also yesterday, the Bradshaw Mountain baseball team defeated Yuma 7-4 in their state play-in game. No stats were available prior to air time. The Bears play in the Sweet 16 of state Saturday.
