The Yavapai County government’s free slash drop-off program is still underway. County residents can drop off their yard debris at any county transfer station. Those stations are located in Paulden, Mayer, Congress, Camp Verde, Skull Valley, Black Canyon City, and Seligman. Items that will be accepted for drop-off include brush, branches, grass, leaves, and yard trimmings. All yard debris must be bagged. Items that will not be accepted include roots, cacti, metal, lumber, garbage, and stumps.
The program is designed to encourage people to create defensible space around their homes to protect them from potential wildfires. The transfer stations are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free slash drop-off program runs through June 1.
