Mountain Lions Relocated from Prescott Neighborhood

Days after state Game and Fish officers euthanized an aggressive mountain lion in Prescott, they captured and relocated four other lions. The big cats had been roaming around neighborhoods near Frontier Village and had been entering backyards. Game and Fish officials report that the mountain lions did not flee when people shouted at them.

Last Friday, a female mountain lion and three cubs were captured and transported to the Keepers of Wild Nature Park in Valentine, Arizona. State Game and Fish officials note that when mountain lions lose their fear of humans, they are not typically relocated due to the potential threat they pose to people in their new habitat. However, officials with Keepers of the Wild state that they have the necessary space and outdoor habitat to accommodate these mountain lions.
