Their performances and their support earned them huge recognition from Prescott High School. The Badger athletic department recently handed out its end of the year awards.
Wyatt Rewerts was named Prescott’s Male Athlete of the Year. He won the DIII state championship for wrestling at 175 pounds, while in football he was named to the All-Grand Canyon Region 2nd Team.
Prescott’s Female Athlete of the Year was Riley Crockett. She won the state singles championship in badminton for Division Two and finished the season with a 17-0 record.
Prescott’s Coach of the Year was Jami Johnson of girls basketball. She led the team to a 13-4 record in power point games made it to the Sweet 16 of state.
Andrew Lyon and Ashley Cunningham of the basketball teams were named the Male and Female Can-Do Athletes for their hard-working attitudes.
Brad Bombarderi received the Wayne Howell Service Award for building the softball team’s new clubhouse.
