The City of Prescott has hired Melissa Orr as its new library director.
Orr comes from the Scottsdale Public Library system, where she held various leadership roles with increasing responsibility. She served as the senior library manager overseeing programs, outreach, staff development, and volunteer services. She was also the interim library director for 10 months. Orr has held similar leadership positions in Littleton, Colorado.
City Manager Dallin Kimble praised Orr’s 25 years of library experience and her passion for promoting reading and learning.
Current Prescott Library Director Roger Saft is retiring on June 30 after more than 21 years of service to the citizens of Prescott.
