Embry-Riddle’s new conference just unveiled its new identity. The Golden State Athletic Conference, which has existed since 1986, is no more. Going forward, the GSAC will now be known as the Great Southwest Athletic Conference.
With the new name comes a new logo, which features a palm tree connected to a cactus to represent the conference’s teams from Arizona and California.
For the 2024-25 school year, the GSAC will have eight schools; Embry-Riddle, Benedictine-Mesa, Park University, Arizona Christian University, Ottawa University, Hope International, Life Pacific, and The Master’s University. For Riddle, Ben-Mesa, and Park, this will be their first year in the GSAC.
Embry-Riddle’s first official Great Southwest Athletic Conference game takes place September 13th when the volleyball team takes on Ottawa in Surprise.
