The awards keep coming for Travis Strickler. The Embry-Riddle baseball player was one of 23 players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-American team. The players on the list had a combined GPA of 3.82.
Strickler was a first team selection. Previously, he made the CSC All-District Academic Team and the All-Cal Pac Conference Academic Team. Strickler graduated from Embry-Riddle in May with a degree in business administration.
Along with his accomplishments in the classroom, “The Big Stick” also had a productive year at the plate. He batted .402 for the Eagles and led the conference in runs scored with 77, stolen bases with 29, and triples with eight, while smacking nine home runs and driving in 53 runs. Strickler was named the Cal Pac Player of the Year and made the NAIA All-American Third Team.
