Safety improvements to the area around Prescott High School and the Wal-Mart shopping center could be on the horizon. The Prescott City Council on Tuesday gave unanimous approval to a federal Safe Streets and Roads grant aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety.

The amount of the grant is $250,000.
