Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Seligman Monday for a report of gunshots.
YCSO officials report as deputies planned to approach the property, a second 911 caller reported a person had been shot at the same location. The injured person turned out to be the original caller.
Deputies immediately entered the property, and found the suspect, 66-year-old Frank Ross, standing near a vehicle. Ross did not comply with verbal commands and was detained. Inside the residence, deputies found the victim, who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, and began rendering aid. The victim was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center in critical condition.
Detectives learned the victim lived on the same property as Ross but in separate residences. Earlier in the day, there had been an altercation between the two, during which Ross allegedly fired rounds into the victim’s residence, causing critical injuries.
Ross was arrested and booked into Yavapai County Jail on numerous felonies, including attempted murder.
