Swift Water Rescue in PV

Units from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Prescott Valley Police Department conducted a swift water rescue Sunday. A car became stuck in floodwaters in the area of Highway 69 and Quailwood. The occupants of the vehicle were rescued.

Prescott Valley police remind everyone not to drive through flooded roads or low-water crossings, especially if they are blocked off. Under Arizona’s “Stupid Motorist Law,” if you drive through a barricade and become stuck in floodwaters, you could wind up paying for the cost of your rescue. It only takes one foot of water to sweep your vehicle away. Prescott Valley police urge everyone to turn around, don’t drown.
