ERAU Runner Interns at Los Alamos

An Embry-Riddle runner has a very interesting summer internship. Kamryn Hoehne of the cross country and track and field teams is at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. She is part of the lab’s cyber security division, though in an article on the Embry-Riddle athletic website, she explains she cannot elaborate on her work due to security reasons.

Los Alamos was part of the Manhattan Project, which developed the atomic bomb during world war II. Presently, the lab conducts research into various fields of study, including nuclear fusion, medicine, computer science, and national security matters.

Hoenhe, who will be a senior this coming school year, finished fifth in the women’s 1,500 meter race at the Cal Pac track and field championships. For cross country, she finished seventh at the Cal Pac meet and was an NAIA scholar-athlete.
