Embry-Riddle’s new conference, the Great Southwest Athletic Conference, will have eight schools for the 2024-2025 season. It should have been ten schools, but the GSAC has fallen victim to a trend that has hit the nation over the past couple of years; colleges closing down.
Riddle Athletic Director Phil Hess tells The News:
Embry-Riddle’s former conference, the Cal Pac, saw two schools close before the end of the season, Antelope Valley and Saint Katherine. Bestcolleges.com reports more than 60 colleges and universities have closed since 2022.
