Prescott Trail Closures

The White Spar and Bean Peaks trailheads in the Prescott National Forest will be closed from Monday, July 29th to Wednesday, July 31st for installation of new toilets and signage. These trailheads are located three miles south of downtown Prescott along Highway 89.

While the trailheads are closed, the trails themselves will remain open. Parking at the trailheads will not be available. For safety, avoid parking along Highway 89 or in the White Spar Campground, which is only for overnight use. Alternative parking is available at Goldwater Lake and the Watershed Trailhead on Senator Highway.

This project is part of a larger effort that began in 2013 to enhance trail access in the area, adding approximately 150 miles of trails and 15 new trailheads. It is a joint venture with the city of Prescott, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.
