A high speed chase in Spring Valley resulted in the arrest of a 53-year-old man.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday evening, a deputy initiated a traffic stop in Spring Valley, the driver failed to yield and continued driving northbound at speeds of 60-65 miles per hour. Deputies noticed the driver begin throwing items out of the window, which were later discovered to be fentanyl pills.
After unsuccessfully attempting to get the driver to pull over, another deputy went ahead of the pursuit and deployed spike strips, which deflated all four tires.
DPS arrived to take over the pursuit and performed a pit maneuver three times before the car came to a stop. fifty-three-year-old Gene Church was arrested and booked on several charges.
