A new construction project on the Bradshaw Ranger District will rebuild the Copper Basin Trailhead, located seven miles southwest of Prescott along Copper Basin Rd.
Beginning today, the Prescott National Forest will close the area to the public through August 30 while construction occurs. The new trailhead takes the place of two designated dispersed camping sites that will be relocated directly across Copper Basin Road, ensuring no loss of camping opportunities.
The new Copper Basin Trailhead trailhead will provide additional trail access for all users, but specifically provides equestrians with their trailers access to the 54-mile-long Prescott Circle Trail.
