A 16-year-old girl was arrested over the weekend on several charges, including negligent homicide, in connection with a fatal hit and run in Ash Fork. According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the Oasis Lounge on Park Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday. They found 47-year-old Erica Miller had been struck by a vehicle. Deputies attempted live-saving measures on Miller, but she passed away from her injuries.
While the deputies were attending to the victim, the sheriff’s office received a call from a woman in Ash Fork who said her 16-year-old daughter had been involved in a collision. Deputies located the vehicle and arrested the girl. Among her other charges are manslaughter, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and underage DUI.
