With heavy rain expected Wednesday and Thursday, there is an increased risk of flooding in the Tri-City area. You can protect your property by obtaining free sandbags from Prescott Fire Department and Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority stations.
Sandbags are also available at the Yavapai County Public Works yard at 1100 Commerce Drive, and the fire stations in Mayer and Cordes Lakes. While the sandbags and sand are free, you will have to fill the bags yourself.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a 60 to 70 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday.
