They were one of the most dominant teams in the state in 2023. In 2024, the Prescott badminton team is picking up where they left off. They swept Millennium in their season opener yesterday 9-0. None of the matches needed a third set tiebreaker for the win.
Some of the most competitive matches of the day took place in doubles, with Claire Long and Annabelle Courtney winning their contest 21-10 and 21-14, and Abigail Daniels and freshman Lucy Townsend winning 21-13 and 21-12. At number one singles, Reese Sorensen got the win 21-10 and 21-13.
At number two singles, Claire Long went up against the Lady Tigers’… Megan Long! No relation between the two, and Claire Long came away with the 21-4, 21-10 victory.
The Lady Badgers are back at it tomorrow. They have their home opener versus Cactus at 4 PM.
