ERAU & PHS Cross Country Post Good Finishes

There was some solid running during the Labor Day weekend by our local cross country runners. Embry-Riddle kicked off the 2024 season in Flagstaff by doing what they usually do, taking part in the annual George Kyte Invitational. The men’s team finished in third place behind Nevada and first place NAU, while beating out D1 schools Grand Canyon University and ASU. Demetrius Love, junior, finished 14th and Jacob Ortiz was 15th.

The Riddle women finished in fifth place, six points behind Grand Canyon University and 66 points ahead of sixth place UNLV. In her first collegiate race, Sophia Noriega came in 20th place and Zoe Tizard finished in 30th place.

At the same time, the Prescott cross country team was also in Flagstaff for the Peaks Invitational. The boys finished in fifth place, with David Richards coming in eighth, Blake Duggan 21st, and Will Townsend 28th. For the girls, Audrey Delaney finished in 44th place.
