A head-on crash in Rimrock took the life of a 74-year-old woman.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the intersection of E. Beaver Creek Road and Stevenson Road around 11:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a head-on collision involving a 2024 Toyota Rav 4 and a 2013 Volkswagen Passat.
Deputies encountered two bystanders attempting to render aid to the 74-year-old victim by holding her in place until medical care arrived. Copper Canyon Fire/EMS soon arrived and pulled the victim out of the Passat to perform continued lifesaving efforts, but were unsuccessful.
One witness stated she was following the Toyota on Beaver Creek Road, when a white Volkswagen heading in the opposite direction struck the Toyota. The driver of the Toyota refused medical assistance.
The accident remains under investigation.
