Yavapai County Officials Give Tips on Dealing With Heat

With much of Yavapai County under an excessive heat warning, county emergency management officials want to make sure you are prepared to deal with the high temperatures. Along with drinking plenty of water, cover your windows with drapes or shades to keep out the sun. Weather-stripping your doors and windows is also a good idea.

You also should not rely on fans as your primary cooling method as they will not reduce your body temperature or prevent heat-related illnesses. If your home becomes too hot, you can go to a library or shopping mall to cool off.

The high temperatures in the Tri-City area will be in the low to mid-90s through Friday, while temps in the Verde Valley will climb to over 100 degrees.
