CVHS Volleyball Sinks Sedona in Five

The Chino Valley volleyball team got off to a great start in their match against Sedona Red Rock last night. They took set one 25-19, and won the second set 25-15. The Lady Scorpions, however, flipped the script by taking the next two sets 25-21 and 25-15. So it all came down to the fifth and deciding set. Both teams battled it out, with Chino just coming out on top with a 15-12 victory to take the match 3-2.

Brooklyn Little recorded nine assists, eight kills, and six aces for the Lady Cougars. Avery Bradshaw posted four kills and three aces, and Kinsey Murphy served five aces.

The win came with outside hitter Eva Sanchez sidelined with a sprained ankle. It’s also the first victory in a power point match for Chino Valley.

The Lady Cougars are back at it tomorrow when they host Apache Junction. Friday and Saturday, Chino Valley heads up to Ash Fork for the Spartan Volleyball Classic.
