The Wisconsin-River Falls football team began their season Saturday with a huge upset, and a Prescott High School alum played a critical role in that victory. Jake Hilton was responsible for the first two scores of the game, catching a 23-yard touchdown pass and a four-yard touchdown pass from Kaleb Blaha to give the #17 Falcons the 13-7 first-quarter lead over #7 ranked Alma. Hilton ended the night with 64 receiving yards as Wisconsin-River Falls got the 41-35 triumph.
Hilton is not the only Prescott grad to make significant contributions in the collegiate ranks recently. Last Thursday, Kari Kasun notched the Embry-Riddle women’s soccer team’s only goal in a 1-1 tie with Oklahoma Wesleyan. That was Kasun’s first goal of the season.
Back on August 25, Megan Townsend recorded an assist in the Yavapai women’s soccer team’s 3-0 win over Gillette College.
