The first two regular games of the season ended in losses for the Yavapai College men’s soccer team. Tuesday, the Roughriders went for their first win of the season in their first ACCAC match-up of the season as Arizona Western came to Prescott’s Ken Lindley Field. It was a bitterly contested game, however, it produced no winners or losers. The ’Riders and the Matadors ended up in a 1-1 draw.
Andres Pulido notched the lone goal for Yavapai. Nate Claudio picked up the assist. YC is now 0-2-1 on the season.
The Yavapai and Arizona Western women then took the pitch, but that match was more one-sided than the men’s game, with the Lady Matadors getting the 4-0 win. The Lady Riders are now 3-3 on the season.
Both the Yavapai men and women are on the road this Saturday in Las Vegas to face Southern Nevada.
