Drought Intensifies in Yavapai County

The drought has intensified in Yavapai County. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, while most of the county is abnormally dry, the southern part of Yavapai is now in moderate drought. The northwestern portion of the county around Seligman is also in moderate drought.

As for the rest of Arizona, about three-quarters of the state is either abnormally dry or in moderate drought.

Because of the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is high. Everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
