Former Prescott City Councilman Bob Luzius Passes Away

Former Prescott City Councilman Bob Luzius has passed away. Known for his campaign slogan “For the Love of Prescott,” Luzius served on city council from 2005 to 2009. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1950 and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He later joined the Cleveland Fire Department and worked in private industry before returning to Prescott. One of his personal goals was to make sure the “P” on Badger Mountain was maintained and painted.

Prescott Mayor Phil Goode said in a statement, “We want to extend our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of former Councilmember Bob Luzius. Following his council service, Mr. Luzius continued to be active as a citizen advocate in city matters, and Bob and I served together for many years on the Yavapai Republican Men’s Forum executive board. We are grateful for Mr. Luzius’ service to the citizens of Prescott.”
