The Prescott Valley Police Department has released more information on Thursday’s deadly structure fire in the 3100 block of Yavapai Road East. Authorities were called to the home around 8:17 a.m. to reports of a woman screaming, gunshots, and a fire. When police and fire personnel arrived, shots could still be heard coming from the residence. The neighborhood was evacuated and police took up defensive positions around the home.
When shots were no longer heard, firefighters with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority moved in to put out the fire. A search of the home by police found two deceased women, ages 54 and 57, and a 52-year-old deceased man. The preliminary investigation suggests this was a murder-suicide.
The names of the deceased have not been released by police. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
