Another round of open houses for Prescott’s Proposition 478 is on tap for October. The first one takes place Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Fire Station 75 at 315 North Lee Boulevard. Another open house is scheduled for October 12 at Fire Station 74 at 2747 Smoke Tree Lane from 10 a.m. to noon. The final open house is scheduled for October 17 at Prescott Police Headquarters at 222 South Marina Street from 6 to 8 p.m.
If approved by voters, Prop 478 would increase the city sales tax by 0.95 percent to fund public safety services, especially the construction of new fire stations and a new police evidence facility.
