Hunters in Yavapai County will be trekking into the woods in search of small animals. Small game season has begun, with band-tailed pigeon season already underway. Next Friday, tree squirrel season begins, followed by quail season on October 18. Cottontail rabbits are also okay to hunt until June 30 of next year. Hunters can also seek out dusky grouse through November 10 and chukars through February 9.
All waterfowl hunters 18 and older must possess a valid Arizona hunting license and Arizona migratory bird stamp, as well as a federal migratory bird stamp.
