Local scoreboard from the weekend, in soccer, for the guys, Yavapai College shut out Eastern Arizona 4-0. Embry-Riddle edged out Arizona Christian 2-1. Luke Thomas had a goal and an assist. Chino Valley smoked Ash Fork 7-0, with Angel Sanchez scoring a hat trick.
For the ladies, Yavapai College and Eastern Arizona played to a 0-0 draw. Embry-Riddle blanked Arizona Christian 3-0. Rae Yoshioka scored twice.
In volleyball, Yavapai College dropped two matches to Arizona Western by identical scores of 3-1. Tiona Drumm recorded 31 kills and 26 digs over the weekend. Mayer was swept by Anthem Prep 3-0.
The Mayer flag football team went 0-2 at the Epic Tourneys Classic.
At the Desert Twilight Cross Country Invitational, the Chino Valley girls placed 14th, and Landon Smith finished 36th in the boys’ race. Prescott’s Will Townsend and Jenna Smith finished in the top 100 in the boys’ and girls’ races.
In swimming, at the Craig Cummins Invitational, Prescott’s Anwen Smith set a new school record in the girls’ 200 freestyle.
