The triple-digit temperatures and the excessive heat warning may not have been the most ideal conditions for a golf tournament. But that’s the way it was Monday and Tuesday in Surprise, the site of the Ottawa University Fall Invitational. The sweltering weather, however, did not seem to affect the Embry-Riddle women’s golf team too much. The number eleven ranked Lady Eagles came away as the champions of the invite, with a three-round total score of 910, one shot better than Bellevue University.
Individually, Kaetlin Halseth finished in second place with a 218, and Charlotte Griffin, Libby Axen, and Maisy Alsen tied for eighth with a 232.
The Embry-Riddle men, meanwhile, came in seventh at the Ottawa Invitational, shooting a three-round total of 904. Individually, Jordyn Garypie tied for sixteenth with a 223. Prescott alum Scotty Jackson tied for forty-fourth with a 235.
