Prescribed Burn Underway in Prescott Nat’l Forest

Crews with the Prescott National Forest have begun a prescribed burn operation in the Chino Landscape Project area. Nearly 1,400 acres will be burned at the Peavine Tank, 5,839 acres are targeted for burning at Page Flat, and just over a thousand acres will be burned at Wagon Tire North. The purpose of this burn is to improve vegetation conditions in the area.

Smoke impacts in Chino Valley, Paulden, and Prescott are expected to be light to moderate. The prescribed burn should be completed by the end of the month.
