Smoke Alarms the Focus of Fire Prevention Week

This week is Fire Prevention Week and this year’s theme is all about smoke alarms and making sure they’re ready to protect you and your family. Here are some key safety tips the Prescott Fire Department encourages everyone to follow:

  • Test your smoke alarms monthly.
  • Replace batteries as needed.
  • Make sure alarms are installed in every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of your home.
  • Replace smoke alarms every 10 years for maximum efficiency.

Working smoke alarms can provide those crucial extra seconds to escape in case of a fire.
