Two of the top boys soccer teams in the state went head-to-head yesterday. Number one ranked Chino Valley played host to number six Snowflake, and it went the way you’d expect a battle between two top teams to go. The Cougars had a goal courtesy of Angel Sanchez, and the Lobos also found the net. That was all the scoring that took place in regulation. So the two sides had to settle matters in overtime. That was where Sanchez scored his second goal of the day, and that proved the difference as Chino Valley got the 2-1 victory. The Cougars record now stands at 7-0 for the season. They are back in action tomorrow when they head north for a tilt with Sedona Red Rock. Rivalry day is October 17th when Chino is at Camp Verde.
