It had been nearly two weeks since the number five ranked Prescott badminton team had a match. On Tuesday, the Lady Badgers finally returned to the court, without much rust to show for their time off.
The Lady Badgers took on Desert Mountain and swept them 9-0. The most competitive match of the day came at number one doubles, as Claire Long and Annabelle Courtney took the first set 21-8. However, the Lady Wolves’ Samantha Allison and Luca Collins won the second set 21-18. The third-set tiebreaker was a one-sided affair, with Long and Courtney winning 21-8.
Another good battle was in number three singles, where Prescott’s Ashlynn Reed defeated Allison 21-14 and 21-19.
The win, Prescott’s third sweep in a row, puts their overall record at 11-1 on the season. They are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Shadow Mountain.
