The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management is making preparations for a fuels reduction project in Wilhoit. Crews will be removing excess vegetation on 785 acres of state trust land in an effort to reduce the risk of wildfires and improve the health of the forest.
Actual clearing operations are expected to begin next month.
