It’s hoops time at Embry-Riddle. The Eagle men began their 2024-2025 season in Phoenix Saturday, taking on Nelson University – the former SAGU American Indian College. Riddle kept pace with the Warriors in the first half, trailing 44-33 at halftime. But in the second half, Nelson pulled away and handed the Eagles a 97-71 loss.

Two freshmen ended up as Riddle’s leading scorers. Peter Dress posted 21 points, and Noah Gifft tallied 17 points. Dress also grabbed nine rebounds. Jacey Canalin chipped in nine points. Isaiah Wong added seven points, and David Teibo and Christian Wells each notched six points.

The Eagles head to Montana this Friday and Saturday to face Rocky Mountain College and Montana State-Northern. Their home opener is next Monday when they battle Nobel University.
